Frequently Asked Questions
While some level of fitness helps, we now offer E-Bikes for those who are less fit or want a more relaxed experience. Our E-Bikes make the trips accessible to a wider range of people. For regular fat bikes, a moderate fitness level is recommended for the longer trips, especially at Cape Vidal which can involve riding up to 20km.
You should bring:
- Food and drinks for the duration of the trip
- Sunscreen and a hat
- Appropriate clothing: shorts, long sleeve fishing shirts, and sandals (you will get wet)
- A valid fishing license
- Your own fishing gear if preferred (though we provide all necessary equipment)
- A small backpack to carry your items
Based on our experience, the best fishing tides are 2 hours before and 2 hours after low tide. When planning your holiday for fishing, we recommend trying to come during spring tides for the best experience. Don't worry about figuring this out yourself - when you contact us about booking, we'll advise you on the best days and times based on the tide schedules.
Children are welcome to join our trips, but please note that the bikes are big and heavy, so children must be strong enough to handle them. Generally, our bikes are too big for children under the age of 10. We don't have dedicated children's bikes. Safety is our priority, so please contact us to discuss if you're planning to bring children along.
All our activities are weather dependent for safety reasons. If the weather conditions are unsuitable on your booked day, we'll work with you to reschedule for another day during your stay. If rescheduling is not possible, we offer a full refund. We monitor weather conditions closely and will contact you in advance if we anticipate any issues.
No, we do NOT offer bike rentals without a guide. All our trips are guided experiences to ensure safety, provide the best fishing spots, and offer expert knowledge of the area. Our guide is registered and qualified as a marine and field guide with 25 years of experience in this area.
